Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has conceded that his side lost to the better team on Saturday as Manchester City ran out 2-0 winners over the Blues in the FA Cup fifth round, BBC Sport is reporting.

A goal in either half from Man City saw them reach the quarter-finals and avenge their recent Premier League defeat to Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. First, Stevan Jovetic shot in off a post moments after hitting the crossbar, with substitute Samir Nasri making the game safe on his return from injury with a tap-in from David Silva’s low cross.

And Mourinho, whose team failed to even register a shot on target throughout the match, admitted that the hosts deserved their victory, saying: "I don't say my team failed. I would say that City played much better than us and deserved much more to win. The game was simple to analyse - they were the best team, and they won."
